An Update On Life

As you know, it's summer! Well, in the States that is. Summer vacation started a long time ago and July is already over. I am deeply saddened by this because unfortunately I have rarely gone out to enjoy the city during my free time. There is, of course, a logical explanation as to why I have spent my entire July locked up in an apartment in Red Hook, Brooklyn. There are two reasons for such ludicrous behavior. Reason One: School ended for me on June 26 but I got sick as soon as classes ended... literally. I was sick for two weeks which stopped me from bike riding. Reason Two: I am transferring to a different school in the fall and so I (along with every other student in my new school) have summer assignments to complete.
I cannot complain because I truly want to attend my new school and am determined to work hard this school year. Surprise, there are still some high school students that aren't bothered by homework! To add on, I have homework assignments from four different school subjects and so I haven't fully completed any assignments (I'm sorry, I'm still a teen, procrastination is my middle name sometimes!). The bad part about this is that I have to finish all of my homework before the end of August, which is when I will be taking a trip to Mexico along with my siblings. So you see, I'm not all that boring.
But of course, being that I am growing up I'm going to need to start finding a job or at least do some community service. My lazy days are over. And to be honest, being lazy isn't the best thing in the world. Especially because you get tired of doing nothing for long periods of time. Being lazy is even worse when you're living in a city like New York because you miss out on the many events that go on not just in Brooklyn, but in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. My advice to you if you're just visiting NYC: try to spend most of your time outside your hotel or wherever you're staying. You never know who you might bump into or what cool concert is being held for free at the park. Don't plan your day out, let your feet take you wherever they want to. But please, don't do anything illegal.
